Down syndrome & IDD Advocacy

I believe everyone deserves an opportunity which is why I am an advocate for for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities:

  • Member of the IDD Caucus
  • Secured budget funding for IDD-related organizations such as the Triangle Down Syndrome Network, The ARC of Greensboro, Gigi’s Playhouse of Raleigh and Gigi’s Playhouse of Charlotte
  • Sponsored four legislative bills specifically for the IDD community (HB981, HB982 and HB983 passed the House unanimously):
    • HB981 – Make the State of NC a model employer of individuals with IDD
    • HB982 – IDD Data Sharing across various State agencies
